Steelmaking Process Solution

INVT’s variable frequency drive solution for steelmaking processes features high reliability, strong anti-interference capability, precise control, stable continuity, easy operation and maintenance, and comprehensive safety as its core advantages. It adapts to extreme steelmaking working conditions, solves pain points in production and operation, and ensures continuous and efficient operation throughout the entire steelmaking process, as well as cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

Industry Challenges

01

Extremely high requirements for control accuracy and synchronization: The converter system has strict positioning accuracy requirements, while out-of-sync operation of multiple roller tables in continuous casting can easily lead to slab defects, steel breakout and process runaway.

02

Extreme and frequent load impacts: Electric arc furnaces and converters experience sharp instantaneous load changes; large shocks occur during oxygen lance lifting and ladle car startup/shutdown, which easily trigger overcurrent/overload protection and shutdown.

03

Extremely harsh on-site environment: High-temperature radiation, metal dust, oxidation splashes and high humidity cause dust accumulation, short circuits and insulation aging of VFDs, resulting in a consistently high failure rate.

04

Complex power grid environment with strong interference: Electric arc furnaces generate massive harmonics and grid fluctuations, easily leading to VFD false tripping, communication interruptions and control failure.

05

Huge losses from fault shutdowns: The steelmaking process is highly continuous. VFD faults and shutdowns directly result in furnace shutdowns and casting interruptions, causing far greater economic losses than ordinary processes.
