Insufficient power: The diesel engine lacks torque during heavy-duty uphill driving, and frequent gear shifting leads to reduced efficiency.
High braking risk: Mechanical braking on long downhill slopes is prone to overheating and failure, causing vehicle runaway accidents.
High maintenance cost: Diesel engines incur high operation and maintenance expenses and require regular servicing; carbon brushes of DC motors need periodic replacement.
Significant energy waste: Low fuel efficiency under no-load or light-load conditions keeps operating costs high.
Core Equipment: 2 electric wheel inverter units (with braking phase), 2 bidirectional DC-DC units
System Architecture: The converter cabinet serves as the control core of the entire electric drive system, mainly including the main inverter unit, braking unit, auxiliary inverter unit, 24V power supply system, input and output unit, cooling fan, and DC-DC converter.
Control Logic: The main inverter converts DC power into variable-voltage, variable-frequency AC power to drive the traction motor, which in turn drives the vehicle through a gear reduction device. The DC-DC converter steps down the voltage from DC 1200~1800V to DC 540~700V, while charging the low-voltage battery and supplying power to the auxiliary inverter system. When the vehicle operates under braking conditions, the traction motor works in a generating state. Three-phase AC power is fed back to the DC bus through the main inverter to charge the capacitors, realizing a friction-free and lossless electric braking mode. When the battery is fully charged, the braking unit will activate braking resistors to prevent electric braking failure. The auxiliary inverter system consists of multiple independent inverter units, which respectively control the oil pump motor (responsible for lifting and steering), traction fan, and 24V charger unit. All auxiliary inverter units share a common auxiliary DC bus.
