Abstract: This article mainly introduces the application of the INVT EC300 variable-angle inclined elevator at the National Ski Jumping Center for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. This article will elaborate the system configuration, technical difficulties and other details of this project, demonstrating the excellent performance with high performance and stability of the EC300 system in the application of the inclined elevator.

1. Introduction

With the development of the building technology and changing needs of special occasion applications, common elevators and escalators have been unable to meet the requirements of some special projects. The National Ski Jumping Center for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, located in the Zhangjiakou competition zone, is one of the largest and most technically challenging competition venues of the Winter Olympics. The National Ski Jumping Center is nicknamed "Snow Ruyi" thanks to its resemblance to the shape of a "Ruyi", a traditional Chinese ornamental object symbolizing good luck. On the outside of the "Snow Ruyi", there is a lift access from the bottom to the top of the jumping platform, which will play a very important role in connecting and carrying jumping platforms during the Winter Olympics. The "S-type" curve building and steep and complex mountain structure of the “Snow Ruyi” make the construction of the elevator much more difficult. In order to meet the needs of the overall project construction, the first inclined elevator project with an arc track came into being in China.

2. Configuration of the inclined elevator

Running on the arc track requires the elevator to achieve the real-time level control of the car on the arc track under different running speeds. The INVT EC300 elevator control system, combing with INVT GD800 series VFDs and servo drives, provides a perfect solution for this elevator project, ultimately realizing the perfect display and accurate operation of the 90kW variable-angle inclined elevator on site.

The car dynamic leveling servo control system consists of one DPM control board, two angle sensors with independent sampling channels, two servo controllers with independent control channels, two robo cylinders, and the elevator control system.


The DPM board is the main controller of the car dynamic leveling servo control system, which monitors the level condition of the car through angle sensors installed at the bottom of the car and controls the height of two robo cylinders respectively through two servo controllers, so that the car is in a relatively level state in real time.
