INVT GD390L Inverter Enables Smooth Operation of 2000KG Gearless PM Elevator Motor for Montanari Lifts in India

Abstract: One of our key partners used a gearless PM motor for goods lift, need to smoothly start this motor with 2000kg load. This article gives detailed solution of INVT GD390L inverter on this application. Engineering practices, market survey and feedback shows that GD390L has good control performance and stability on this application.

I. Background (fulfil customer background)
 The customer is in the north region, mainly focus on goods lift, annually 100 lifts. Previously mainly used the geared motor, this time gearless PM motor with SinCos encoder was used.

 1. The motor controller should be compatible with gearless PM motor
 2. The motor controller should support SinCos encoder
 3. Need strong overload capability
 4. Smooth start and stop the motor with heavy load
 5. Simplify commissioning and maintenance processes.

GD390L electrical configuration
 According to the lift configuration and the demanding functions, we provide the electrical solution as follow. Considering higher ambient temperature, one grade higher of machine rating is selected.

* Support open loop control mode without encoder and closed loop control mode with encoder;
