I. Introduction

SP100 is INVT's new solar water pump inverter. It has a Hybrid function which can give DC Solar input and AC grid input at same time. This drive can work on power sharing concept.

Hybrid Function: In hybrid mode, SP100 will use the energy of both PV modules and grid (or generator) at same time. The stronger the light radiation, the less AC energy is consumed. As the radiation reduction, the consumption of AC energy will increase to maintain the output.

Automatic switching Function: If don't need to run at full high frequency at all times, SP100 has auto-switch function. It can monitor the PV voltage, and when the voltage is below the set threshold, it can control the contactor to act and connect AC power to meet energy needs. When the voltage on the PV side exceeds the set threshold, the contactor can be controlled to operate and disconnect the AC power to reduce energy consumption.

The INVT SP100 solar water pump inverter has been successfully deployed at two customer sites in Tamil Nadu, India, both operating efficiently in hybrid power-sharing mode. Each site is equipped with the SP100-7R5-4-6-S model, supporting continuous operation through seamless switching between solar and grid power.

Project working principle:

DC Input given from the solar panel and AC input from the grid both are connected to the SP100 inverter. Hybrid function enabled in inverter parameter settings.

When DC input voltage is sufficient (will be at required MPP level) the inverter total power consumption only from the DC source.
If DC input voltage get reduce on weak light times, then inverter will share the load with AC. So now the inverter will consume the power from the both DC & AC source. Until DC voltage goes to the minimum setting voltage.

If DC voltage goes to the minimum software setting voltage then inverter will consume the total Power from AC source.

III.    Advantages and benefits.
•    Work on Load sharing mode. So that we can get the maximum output from the pump for all time.
•    If no DC then it will switch to AC automatically, so that we can run the inverter when no light or night time also with AC source.
•    Built in LCD display with AC, DC energy consumption details.
•    Automatic run and stop
•    IP66 Protection. Support outdoor installation.
•    Integrated fuse, DC breaker and surge protection.

IV.    Conclusion

Automatic ON/OFF Based on the input and automatic load sharing and switching function to reduce the human monitoring the system on every time.
