Background

The laminating machine is a special equipment used for paper and film. The pre-coated laminating machine is small in size, low in cost, flexible and easy to operate. It is not only suitable for laminating processing of large quantities of printed matter, but also suitable for automated desktop office systems, etc. The lamination processing of small batches and scattered printed matter has great development potential.

However, some pre-coated laminating machines currently on the market still have inaccurate and large deviations in the spacing between papers, resulting in unsatisfactory laminating effects.

Customer requirements

Regarding the coating laminating machine of a machinery company in Shantou City, customers reported that the previously developed system was not ideal and hoped that the shortcomings could be improved. Its main requirements are:

1.The paper feeding interval is stable, that is, the interval is equal to the overlap length set on the HMI;
2. Paper breakage is stable, with no or very few paper connections.
3. The speed ratio of each axis is adjustable, reducing the trouble of mechanical adjustment.

INVT Solution

Based on customer requirements, INVT has launched a new system solution configured with GD20 VFD, DA200 servo drive and two IVC3 series PLCs.
Among them, the IVC3 bus type PLC supports 8 channels of 200KHZ pulse output, which can realize high-speed pulse control of the servo driver. In conjunction with the speed feedforward function adjustment of the INVT DA200 servo driver, the problem of paper spacing deviation can be solved.

2. Solution content

1. The system uses INVT IVC series programmable controller. Since the paper feeding and paper cutting equipment are far apart, in order to prevent the long-distance transmission signal from being interfered, each of the two parts is equipped with a separate controller. Can communication is used to exchange data between the two PLCs to achieve high-speed and high-response synchronization of the two parts of the equipment.

2. The system uses pulse servo driver DA200, which adopts position control mode. The pulses come from the host encoder to realize the synchronization relationship between the host and the paper feeding servo. When the material length changes, the corresponding electronic gear ratio is calculated based on the material length and overlap length input on the HMI, and is written to the servo driver through Modbus communication to change the paper feed line speed, thereby ensuring the accuracy of the overlap position.

3. The system uses GD20 VFD, a vector control platform product with powerful functions and excellent performance. It is suitable for small and medium power applications and is widely used in food, printing, packaging and other industries. The VFD here all use HDI given frequency. Compared with Modbus communication given frequency, HDI has the advantage of high speed and no delay.

4. In terms of HMI interaction, the speed ratio of the host machine corresponding to paper rewinding and tearing can be changed on the HMI. Before comparison, the appropriate speed ratio can be adjusted through the chain reducer, which is more usable and flexible and solves the speed ratio problem. Paper break failure phenomenon.

Solution advantange

1. The paper feeding gap has high precision: the host speed is set to 65 meters/minute, and the servo retention pulse parameter is monitored, which is basically controlled at around 3-5. Except for slippage of the paper, theoretically there will be no deviation of half a centimeter from the previous one. The paper feeding servo and the host have good following characteristics to ensure the accuracy of the joint.

2. Paper breaking is more stable: The speed ratio of paper rewinding and paper tearing is opened on the HMI, which can be fine-tuned according to the actual situation. The design principle of paper breaking is: when there is material, the incoming paper photoelectric will be triggered, and the position of the incoming material will be determined by counting with an encoder. Generally, the paper cutting cylinder will be triggered at half the length of the paper to complete the paper breaking action. This solution can effectively reduce or eliminate unsuccessful paper breaks.

Conclusion

In the laminating machine solution launched by INVT, the main machine is driven by a 5.5KW VFD, and the feeder is driven by a 1.5kw servo driver. The electrical structure is simple, and the servo-driven feeder can ensure the accuracy of the paper lamination position. Through INVT's solution, the pre-coated laminating machine has truly achieved the results of high paper feeding position accuracy and low paper lamination deviation, which can effectively ensure the stability of the paper breaking position and the laminating effect of the film and paper.
