Abstract: Education's new infrastructure development has become a key lever for China's national education modernization strategy‌. Multiple policies explicitly require that by 2025, a structurally optimized, intensive, efficient, and secure education new infrastructure system be basically established, while promoting local areas to formulate school-level data center construction guidelines and systematically plan campus information architecture.

Overview

iTalent series containment data center adopts modular design, integrating power supply and distribution system, air conditioner system, cabinet system, closed aisle system, monitoring system and cabling system into one, and configuring various environmental data sampling sensors for unified monitoring and management by eSite monitoring system, realizing automatic control and intelligent operation and maintenance, enhancing data center reliability, availability and maintainability.

Project introduction

Against this background, INVT has collaborated with Xianning No.1 High School in Hubei Province to develop a green smart data center project, becoming an innovative practice in implementing the new infrastructure requirements for education. This project requires deep integration of computing power deployment, energy-saving optimization, and intelligent operation and maintenance. It not only precisely meets the policy requirements of 'intensive and efficient, safe and reliable,' but also creates a model for campus data center construction that can be promoted nationwide, providing an important example for advancing educational informatization.

Difficulty, solution and advantages

1. Difficulty: A school-level high-performance computing platform not only needs to provide powerful computing resources for the school's researchers, but also needs to strive to offer an integrated high-quality service model of computer science, thereby accelerating the school's research progress.

Solution: INVT provides Xianning No. 1 Senior High School in Hubei Province with a green and energy-saving solution featuring INVT's full-stack self-developed dual-row modular data center with in-row precision air conditioner.

2. Difficulty: College electricity demand fluctuates greatly, with significant supply pressure during peak periods, and energy consumption remains high.

Solution: The computer room uses INVT high-efficiency modular UPS (RM120/20), providing green, energy-saving, and efficient power while meeting future expansion needs. It also adopts intelligent temperature control products for modular data centers. Deployed within cabinet arrangements and installed side by side with server cabinets, combined with cold aisle containment, the air conditioner uses a high return air temperature design close to the heat source for efficient cooling, further improving cooling efficiency and reducing energy consumption.

3. Difficulty: The number of university operations and maintenance personnel and their professional skills are insufficient, making it difficult to cope with the maintenance requirements of complex equipment and systems.

Solution: The data center uses the latest self-developed DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) system, with the full range of self-developed full-stack data center products seamlessly integrated into the DCIM system, improving maintenance efficiency and reducing labor costs.

Summary

The Green Smart Modular Data Center project, a collaboration between INVT and Xianning No.1 Senior High School in Hubei Province, provides universities with powerful data storage, processing, and analysis capabilities, supporting the operation of digital teaching tools such as online courses, virtual laboratories, and intelligent tutoring systems. At the same time, based on data analysis and artificial intelligence technologies, universities can conduct interdisciplinary research, promote the development of emerging disciplines, and also provide students with a platform to access and use advanced information technologies, cultivating students' abilities in data analysis, programming, and innovative thinking.
