INVT GD5000 Medium-Voltage VFD Supports Tonkolili Iron Ore Project in Sierra Leone

On the Atlantic coast of West Africa, Sierra Leone is home to a rising star in the global mining industry—the New Tonkolili Iron Ore Mine. With 11.9 billion tons of proven reserves, it stands as the world’s largest single magnetite iron ore deposit, covering an area of 408 square kilometers. The Phase II mining and beneficiation project is in full swing, aiming to establish a modern processing plant with an annual output of 12 million tons, injecting robust momentum into the global steel industry chain.

Leveraging its innovative technology and professional services, INVT supplied the GD5000 series medium-voltage frequency converters and variable-frequency power products for Phase II and Phase III (Stage 1) of the project, ensuring the stable operation of this colossal iron ore venture.
