Abstract: In this project, INVT EC30 door elevator controller was successfully integrated with an international elevator brand door mechanism, utilizing the existing asynchronous (AM) door motor and encoder. Despite challenges in matching the existing encoder, stable operation was achieved through careful parameter tuning and commissioning optimization.
Keywords: EC30 Door Drive, Otis Door Mechanism, AM Door Motor, Encoder Feedback, Retrofit Solution.
Introduction
EC30 elevator door controller is a dedicated for elevator door systems. It's designed with smaller appearance structure, lightweight and compact size, ultra-thin plastic shell to be easier to install. It also has a wide range of applications and meets the needs of various elevator door control.
Features:
Support induction and PM motors, incremental and absolute encoders
Fully pulse running mode without limit switches, intelligent processing while pulse loss
Auto speed curve generation without parameter adjustment
Fully Comply with CE certification
Advanced functions such as One-button debugging, obstacles detection, auto demonstration, and self-adaptation to working conditions.
Customer Requirements
The customer operating an international brand elevator door system required a reliable replacement for the existing door controller due to recurring door faults and aging electronic components. The key requirement was to retain the original asynchronous (AM) door motor and existing encoder while upgrading the control system in order to improve operational stability, reduce downtime, and simplify commissioning at site.
Challenges
Integration of the EC30 door controller with a proprietary elevator door mechanism
Ensuring compatibility with the existing asynchronous (AM) door motor
Achieving stable operation using the existing encoder feedback, including encoder matching and signal optimization
Ensuring smooth and accurate door operation without the use of mechanical limit switches
Reducing commissioning time while minimizing long-term maintenance complexity
INVT Solutions
Deployment of INVT EC30 Door Drive
Reuse of Otis AM door motor and original encoder
Closed-loop control using encoder feedback for precise door positioning
Auto speed curve generation and self-learning functions
One-button debugging for quick commissioning
Intelligent obstacle detection and fault monitoring
This approach eliminated the need for motor or encoder replacement, reducing cost and installation time.
